How we handle your data.

Last updated June 21, 2026

VAC is built and maintained by Mikuláš Vojíř in the Czech Republic. We care about keeping things simple and private, the same way VAC keeps your infrastructure under your own control.

01What this policy covers

This policy applies to the VAC website and documentation at vac.vojir.ioand its subdomains (the “Site”).

VAC itself is open-source software that you install and run on your own servers. When you self-host VAC, it runs entirely on your infrastructure. We have no access to your VAC instance, the applications you deploy with it, or any data it processes. For anything running on your own server, you are the data controller.

02What information we collect

The Site is intentionally lightweight. It has no user accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, and no advertising or tracking. The only data we touch is what your visit unavoidably generates:

  • Standard server logs created when you visit, which may include your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and timestamps. These are used for security and to diagnose problems.

We do not run analytics, build visitor profiles, sell your data, or share it with advertisers.

03How we use your information

We use the limited information above only to:

  • Operate, secure, and maintain the Site.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, errors, or security incidents.

05Cookies

The Site uses only the strictly necessary storage required for basic functionality, such as remembering your light or dark theme preference. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

06Data retention

We keep server logs only as long as needed for security and operational purposes, then delete or anonymize them. We do not build long-term profiles of visitors.

07Sharing your information

We do not share your information, except:

  • When legally required, such as in response to a valid court order or legal obligation.
  • With trusted infrastructure providers (for example, hosting and CDN services) that process data strictly on our behalf to deliver the Site.

08Your rights

If you are in the EU, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the Czech Republic this is the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů).

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
